Marquee’s First Yearling Draft Well Received

 In horses

The first yearling draft for Marquee Stud at the 2012 Inglis Classic yearling sale was very well received by the market with yearlings sold to well known identities such as John McCardle (purchased the Street Boss/ Just Friends filly), Darby Racing (purchased the Snitzel/ Zest colt to be trained by Clarry Connors), the Duke of Marmalade/ Riff colt was purchased by Tony Pike Bloodstock from NZ, Noel Mayfield-Smith acquired the Sebring/Special Mention filly on behalf of one of his clients and up and coming trainer, Scott Aspery purchased the Strategic/ Luxadora colt.

Stud principal, Mark Alati was very satisfied with the presentation of the yearlings at the sale and especially pleased to have the stud’s first draft finish in the top six by averages for three or more sold, selling six of the eight lots offered for an average of $47,500. There have also been a number of very favourable comments passed back to Mark that the draft was one of the best prepared/ presented for this year’s Classic sale at Inglis’ Newmarket complex.

The two passed in yearlings (being a Danzero/Fidele colt (Lot 392) and the Choisir/Mantelpiece filly (Lot 528)) are still available for sale and if anyone is interested in these yearlings or wish to have their horses prepared for any of the major sales by Marquee, please contact the stud’s manager, Garry Isaac on 0276471789 or mobile 0429480755. The stud agists broodmares, spellers etc and if anyone would like to inspect the stud they are more than welcome to arrange a time and date to check out the facilities of the stud.
